Mattel's Barbie Doll Edward is based after the vampire character Edward Cullen from the Twilight movie and book series.

He features a short spiky hair style, chiseled jaw and pale skin. Snakeskin jeans, boots, blue shirt and warm grey coat.

He is the first 'vampire' barbie that Mattel has ever made. You can also get the Twilight Bella Barbie doll as well. At this stage there hasn't been any word whether a Jacob Barbie will be released.

The Twilight Barbie Edward Doll was released on November 1, 2009 and is expected to be a huge seller this Christmas 2009.

Edward Cullen is played by Robert Pattinson in the Twilight films, Twilight and New Moon.

In the original movie Edward first see's Bella at school and becomes attracted to her, eventually falling in love with her.

Even though he looks like an everyday teenager, he was actually born on June 20, 1901.

He was turned into a vampire in 1918 to prevent him from dying in the Spanish Influenza epidemic.

Unlike many of the other vampires he knows, Edward is a 'vegetarian' vamp, committed to feeding only on animals and not humans.
